There are different places in pokhara to visit. We can relax there and enjoy our holidays. Pokhara is a lovely place. Most of the tourist like to visit to pokhara. most of the people of kathmandu like to visit to Pokhara for the relaxation. There are different place among them Fewa lake is one of them. The Fewa (or Phewa) Lake 1.5 kilometer long, second largest lake in Nepal, offers an excellent view of the mountains and their reflections on the lake. Many tours and trekking operators and hotels are located on the lakeside. One can easily find a place to sit back, relax and enjoy great meal while enjoying scenery here. You will also enjoy boating on the lake. Most hotels and guest houses have traditional designs and layouts which match with the surrounding views. Pokhara is one of the most beautiful places of Nepal. The rain falls frequently in this place. Due to which town pokhara is very neat and clean. The people living in the pokhara are friendly in nature to all of the people who visit there. The people are helpful to each others. The people living there are of different ethnic groups like Magar , Gurung , Rai , Tamang , Limbhu , Subba , Rana and many more. There are people from different religions like Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist etc. Their living style is good. Their economic condition is very much good due to tourism sector. Due to tourism sector people of pokhara gets employment opportunities. The starting point for many of Nepal's most popular trekking and rafting destinations. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the fish-tail summit of Machchapuchhre (6,977 m) rising behind it create an ambience of peace and magic. The valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forests, gushing rivers, clears lakes and the world famous views of the Himalaya. Situated 200 km west of Kathmandu, Pokhara is connected by air as well as by road from Kathmandu and Bhairawa, a border town near India. Pokhara offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manasalu, Machchhapuchhre, five peaks of Annapurna and others.
(1) Phewa tal (lake)
Phewa Tal is very big and large in size. Phewa Tal is the second largest lake of Nepal. The rough measurement of Phewa Lake is about 1.5 km by 4 km. Its deep is 47 meters roughly measure. The lake is clean and if we want then we can have a swim over there. The lake is dirty too in some sides of the lake. But they are clean by the government. Governments are looking after it. They are making strict rules and regulation for those who throw the garbage in the lake. The brightly painted wooden boats and sailboats can be rented on reasonable cost around lakeside. The eastern shoreline of the lake, popularly known as Lakeside or Baidam, consists of seemingly endless strip of lodges, restaurants, bookshops and souvenir shops. One of the fascinating parts of lakeside is the splendid view of the mountains, especially when the still water reflects the peaks, creating a double image.

Tourism developed in Nepal in the year between (1956 -1961). A five year plan which enclosed provision for tourism in the history of Nepal. The launch of three years plan in the year 1962 which helps in the development of infrastructure in different sector. The successful scaling of Mt. Annapurna in 1950 A.D and Mt Everest in 1953 A.D popularized the existence of Nepal and the Nepalese people in the world. In the year of 1956, a large number of distinguished foreigner dignitaries were invited to Nepal to participate in the coronaries ceremony of the late king Mahendra which greatly help too foster friendly relationship with the outside world.
The promotion of tourism in Nepal is through sense started in the beginning earning from tourism amounted to 214000 dollars, which help in filling the gap arising from transportation sector RNAC (royal Nepal airlines corporation) cam into existence on fourth July 1956 under mixed government and private sector later many tourism act came into existence which helps a lot in the development of tourism in Nepal and made Nepal one of the most popular tourist development such as:
(a) The development of tourism at 2021 B.S and the tourism regulation at 2022 B.S which made the provision that all hotels should be classified according to international hotels standard system. The same act approved and granted license to travel agencies to operate as national travel agencies.
(b) In the year 1965 the tourism act commenced training and trained 52 tourist guides to cater the need of tourism.
(c) The fourth-five year plan in 1970-1975 which help to enlarge the size of TIA (Tribhuvan international airport) and provide plan development of tourism.
(d) Another most important project PATA (pacific area travel association) in the year 1975-1976 which help in the development of Pokhara.
(e) The established of hotel management and tourism training centre were organized in 1972, whose main objectives was to provide training and skilled manpower in the tourism sector.
(f) The first visit Nepal in the year 1998 which aimed to attract five lakhs tourist.
Nepal is a land locked country. There are 44 airports in various part of Nepal today. If we review the recent past year data, we find that the average tourist arrival in Nepal is fluctuating owing to instable government regime and the political turmoil and unrest the year 1999 the total tourist arrival was 491,504 and the figure remained the highest till date

As the jumping grounds for trekking, the stores around the lake carries all the necessary equipment needed for such trips, plus it is a good place to buy souvenirs to take back home. Pokhara also has the immigration office, one of the two in the country from where trekking permits can be obtained and visas extend.
Pokhara has some interesting sites with religious significance like Varahi temple in the middle of the lake and Binde Basini Temple in the city, atop a small hill. Like the Tibetan camp in Kathmandu, Pokhara has its share of settlements, where Tibetan arts and handmade carpets can be shopped. Another one of Pokhara's attraction is the David's Fall. The best way to see the valley is pedaling on a rental cycle.
